Blepharoplasty Explained
Blepharoplasty (BLEF-uh-roe-plas-tee) is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin from the eyelids. As we age, the eyelids naturally stretch and the surrounding muscles weaken. Because of this, excess skin and fat can build up above and below the eyelids.
This may lead to:
-
Sagging eyebrows
-
Droopy upper eyelids
-
Bags under the eyes
-
Impaired vision
Blepharoplasty helps restore a fresher, more open appearance and can also improve visual function when excess skin blocks the line of sight.
